Kitano Meister Garden
A building in which workshop studios are gathered, where you can enjoy various hands-on experiences crafting lovely accessories and foodstuffs.
Various workshop studios, commercial complex
Kitano Meister Garden is a workshop based tourist attraction, founded in 1998 by renovating the former Kitano Elementary School building. The retro-modern building houses about 20 businesses.
Shops that carry confectionery and souvenirs of Kobe line the first floor, and take-aways of popular Kobe Beef croquette and Buta-man (steamed pork bun) are also available.
There are over 60 different workshop studios where you can experience handcrafting, as well as shops with knick-knacks and accessories unique to Kobe, and a café where you can relax on the second floor.
While shopping is fun, we encourage trying various hands-on experiences that are offered here during your visit. The experience making things such as Niku-man (steamed meat bun), replica food-models, small leather goods and accessories is likely to become a lovely lasting memory of the trip.
There are workshop studios of various types inside the building where you can create original goods.
Popular among foreign tourists, and experiences making replica food-models are also available.
You can watch the craftsman’s skills up-close.
Inside, the building has a retro and fashionable atmosphere that makes you want to take a picture.
