Lake Umeda is located in the upper reaches of the Kiryu River, with the Kiryu River Headwaters Forest as its water source. It is not only a place where you can experience the beauty of nature, but also a famous fishing spot among anglers. The main target fish are rainbow trout, brown trout, cherry salmon, landlocked salmon, black bass, and pond smelt.
Boat fishing is available almost all year round. You can enjoy fishing in any season.
The best time to visit is in February. At the beginning of February, when the flowers are in full bloom, the "Wintersweet Festival" is held, attracting many visitors including local people.
Fishing is not the only activity you can enjoy here. There are also two types of boats available for rent: rowboats and foot paddle boats. The best time to go boating is from spring, when the lily pads are beautiful, to summer, when the leaves are fresh and green.
On the lakeside, there are tables and a lawn, so you can have a picnic and eat your lunch. If you don't have a lunch box, you can go to the restaurant "Yukinoya". You can taste dishes made with seasonal ingredients. You can enjoy seasonal dishes, udon noodles, tempura, sake, and more. The restaurant also has a fishing pond, so you can enjoy fishing with your children.
