Gora Kadan
A Japanese international hotel built on the site of the vacation home of the former imperial family, within a lush national park.
Gora Kadan is a traditional Japanese hotel built on the land where the former summer residence of Kain’in no Miya Imperial Prince Kotohito used to be. It is located in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, within Gora Onsen, a famous hot spring resort area. The hotel is highly regarded overseas and became a member of the international hotel restaurant group “Relais & Chateaux” in 1991.
The guest rooms are designed based on the traditional Japanese style and range from rooms with open-air baths to annexes.
The hotel serves authentic Kaiseki cuisine that makes the most of fresh seafood caught in Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay and other seasonal ingredients for breakfast and dinner. Except for a few annexes, meals are served in your room, providing relaxing mealtime in a private space.
Two of the three hot springs owned by the hotel are private springs gushing from the garden. The simple, weakly alkaline, and clear water is gentle on your skin and effectively relieves cold and fatigue. You can enjoy the hot spring in the large public spa or the family bath, free of charge for 40 minutes.
Other complimentary facilities include a heated swimming pool with an outdoor Jacuzzi and a fitness gym. In addition, bedrock baths are available from 5,500 yen (for two people). If you want to relax more, KADAN SPA provides a 60-minute healing treatment using carefully selected cosmetics in an exotic space in the garden. Treatments are available from 17,600 yen.
