Tamura Ginkatsu-tei Main Restaurant
Traditional restaurant which developed Gora’s specialty food, Tofu Katsuni.
Tofu Katsuni is an egg drop soup over a cutlet of tofu stuffed with domestic ground pork sauce. Since it was created by Tamura Ginkatsu-tei’s main restaurant in 1995, it has gained many fans and is now a specialty in Gora. Tamura Ginkatsu-tei has four branches around the Hakone area.
Shakuri Tofu is used for Katsuni, which is a special-order squeezed tofu made by Hakone Gindofu. Cooked in the tasty fish soup stock, the healthy and popular Tofu cutlet goes well with rice.
Besides Tofu Katsuni, the menu features the regular cutlet made of domestic choice pork, deep-fried yuba (bean curd) and horse mackerel from around Odawara Sea, Fried smelt from Lake Ashinoko, and many more.
The restaurant has tables in a high-ceiling room or Japanese room preferred by families. This reputable restaurant is close to Gora Station of Hakone Tozan Train or Hakone Tozan Cable Car, worth a visit during a tour in Hakone.
