Dolphins and orcas perform lively in Japan’s largest pool!

Last update :

This is a huge aquarium with dolphins, beluga whales, orcas, and other sea creatures in the North wing, and various tanks with live coral and other sea creatures in the South wing.

The dolphin performance and the orca public training in Japan’s largest pool, which is 60 meters wide, 30 meters long, and 12 meters deep, are both outstanding. Visitors can observe the sea animals swimming around fast and dynamically, just as they would in the wild. Dolphin performances are held 3-4 times per day, and orca trainings are held a couple of times per day, so be sure to check the schedule ahead of time.

The “Tornado of Sardine,” in which approximately 35,000 sardines swarm around the bait thrown into the tank, creating a whirlpool, is also popular. Sardine scales sparkle under the lights, creating a fantastic scene. This can be seen in the “Large Kuroshio Tank” on the 2nd floor of the South wing.

The live coral tank is also as beautiful as a painting, and having 250 pieces of coral from about 20 different species on display is very rare.
There are also sea turtles, penguins, beluga whales, and other popular sea creatures here. Some of them have public feeding times, so be sure to check the schedule as well.
