Gyoza Masashi Miyajima Shop

A specialty shop with no rice or beer, just nothing but gyoza.

Last update :

This gyoza specialty shop sits on Miyajima Street, the place nicknamed Gyoza Street in Utsunomiya, the dumpling mecca Japan. This spot centers on serving up delicious but wallet-friendly gyoza to love, with nothing but pan-fried yaki-gyoza and boiled sui-gyoza on the menu (each 6-pc serving for one is 250yen). This shop is known for serving gyoza only, with no rice or beer available, but is still patroned by many locals and long lines of fans who can’t get enough.

Inside the thin gyoza wrapper is a super-packed helping of cabbage, scallions, garlic chives and ginger for a pop of flavor. The veggies and meat used inside are all raised domestically just like the shop likes it. The gyoza are fried together into an aromatic crisp that you can break apart and enjoy for all its veggie-licious crunch and flavor.

The boiled sui-gyoza dumplings are made for optimum flavor when you drop your favorite mix of chili oil, vinegar and soy sauce straight into the soup. Both types of gyoza are made slightly petite so we recommend getting an order of both types to taste and compare. For those who want to experience all the delicious flavor from home, there’s even takeout chilled gyoza packs (220yen) available to purchase.
