Ikaho Onsen has been loved since ancient times. It is said that writers such as Yumeji Takehisa and Roka Tokutomi frequented.

The symbol of the town is the 365 stone steps, lined with craft and souvenir stores on either side. The number came from the wish for 365 days of prosperity in the onsen town. Akiko Yosano’s poem Ikaho Town is engraved on part of the stairs.

Ikaho Onsen has two source springs, Golden Water and Silver Water. Golden brown water is known for healing illnesses and injuries as well as for fertility. The Silver water was named because it is clear. People love it for recovery from exhaustion and promoting health. You can enjoy Golden Water at the coed onsen public bath, Ikaho Rotenburo (outdoor bath) and Silver Water at the inns in the resort.

Around the stone stairs, there are many traditional inns, which can be a great base for exploring the area.

    365個階梯的兩旁都有商店可以逛,賣的溫泉饅頭還不錯吃,晚上燈打下去更是古色古香。
