Naha City Bunka Tenbusu Building

This complex is located on Kokusai-dori Avenue, which is crowded with many tourists. Tenbusu means "navel" in the Okinawan language, and from the middle of Kokusai-dori, the center of Naha, various aspects of Okinawan culture are presented.

Every Thursday, the "Thursday Arts’ Performances" showcase the charm of Okinawa with a variety of content including Kumiodori, a traditional Okinawan song and dance performance registered on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, as well as "folk arts" and Ryukyuan dance of each island, which can only be seen on the remote islands. The performances are reasonably priced at 1,500 yen for adults, 1,130 yen for high school students, and 750 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and are enjoyed by many tourists and fans within the prefecture. The facility also offers hands-on classes in Okinawan cooking, eisa, Ryukyu karate, and more.

On the second floor of the facility is the Naha City Traditional Crafts Center, where traditional crafts are displayed and sold, and where visitors can also experience authentic workshops, allowing them to fully experience the Okinawan flavor of the city.
