Yakitori Watanabe
A hidden retreat for adults where you can fully enjoy Nagoya Cochin yakitori.
Yakitori Watanabe is a reservation-only yakitori kappo restaurant in Higashi Ward, Nagoya. Centered around Nagoya Cochin, one of Japan’s three major jidori chicken breeds, it serves course meals made with seasonal local ingredients. With refined service and a calm atmosphere, it is a popular choice for special occasions such as business dinners and anniversaries.
The Nagoya Cochin Course begins with appetizers such as kombu-cured chicken and toriwasa, followed by yakitori carefully grilled over Kishu binchotan charcoal. Each cut is cooked with precise heat control to bring out both savory aroma and juiciness. You can fully enjoy the distinctive texture and rich flavor unique to Cochin chicken. The Tokai Local Ingredients Course features not only yakitori but also seasonal vegetables and carefully selected meats roasted over charcoal. To finish, eel rice made with Mikawa Isshiki eel is served, freshly cooked in a Sansai hagama pot.
Inside, the restaurant offers a calm setting accented by striking plaster walls. There are 18 seats in total, including counter seats, tables, and private rooms. Guests can choose the style that best suits the occasion. Weekday-only takeout is also available, including a yakitori bento with assorted cuts and a luxurious eel bento made with a whole eel.
