Shopping District

Nagoya‘s biggest arcade is surrounded by Wakamiya, Fushimi, Osu and Minami-Otsu Streets. Almost 1,200 stores and facilities in all kinds of genres are clustered - restaurants, second-hand, general, and appliance stores, etc. are creating a unique atmosphere.

In 1612, Osu Kannon was moved from the current Hashima City, Gifu to this place and started Osu town. Also, Banshoji Temple , which owned a large land around the current Osu 3 Chome, released the land in 1912, contributing to the development of the shopping district.

Today, many shops sell trendy food, attracting the youth who enjoy walking and eating. Along with Akihabara in Tokyo and Nihonbashi in Osaka, it is counted in “Japan’s Three Electronics Malls,” featuring numerous appliance and PC shops. At the time of the World Cosplay Summit, started in Nagoya in 2003, cosplayers from all over the world gather in Osu and walk along the shopping arcade dressed in manga costumes, showing off the “Geeky Town.”

    逛來逛去幾乎都是賣一樣的東西,沒什麼特色。

    吃的東西很多尤其是異國美食小吃,都很具特色,還有二手服專賣店都是秤斤秤兩賣的,可以來這邊尋寶。
