Kappo Kaga
A long-established kappo restaurant known for its signature Kaga Crab Rice served in a hot stone style.
Located in Yamashiro Onsen, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Kappo Kaga is a kappo restaurant run by the same family for three generations. It has a history of Approx. 40 years since its founding. The menu centers on kappo cuisine made with local ingredients. The restaurant is particular about making everything by hand except for seasonings, and all desserts are also homemade.
The signature item on the lunch menu is “Kaga Crab Rice,” a hot stone-style crab rice dish. It is a popular menu item made with kobako crab from Hashidate in Kaga City. One of its charms is that you can enjoy three different flavors by mixing in a soft-boiled egg and condiments, or by pouring dashi broth over it. The crab broth oden served as part of the set includes crab meat and crab-filled shinjo. The restaurant also serves dishes made with seasonal seafood and pesticide-free vegetables grown by the owner. There are also course meals and kaiseki meals, as well as seasonal crab and pufferfish dishes. A wide selection of local Hokuriku sake is available, including a tasting set that lets you choose three varieties.
Inside, the restaurant offers a wide range of seating styles, including tea room-style rooms, sunken kotatsu seating, table seating, and counter seats.
