On this trip to Fukuoka, I also made a point of visiting Fukuoka Tower to walk around and take some photos! Fukuoka Tower is one of Fukuoka’s most recognizable landmarks, so since I was already here, of course I had to stop by and check it out!
The overall setup is pretty good. Although the observation area inside wasn’t as large as I expected, the environment and facilities were decent. There’s a selfie spot right by the entrance, along with a phone stand, so even if you come alone, you can easily take photos.
After buying a ticket and entering, a staff member operates the elevator and takes everyone upstairs, with some brief explanations along the way. There are two floors inside the tower that you can visit. It isn’t very large overall, and you can finish taking photos and walking around in about 15 minutes. Admission is JPY 1,000. Personally, I recommend coming at night to enjoy the Fukuoka city night view, which would feel more atmospheric!
After visiting, I felt there’s no need to set aside too much time for Fukuoka Tower. It’s nice just to come by, enjoy the view, and take some photos! However, this place really depends on the weather, so I recommend coming on a clear day. Otherwise, the distant scenery may be hazy and you might not be able to see much at all.
If you’re planning an independent trip to Fukuoka, you can add Fukuoka Tower to your itinerary. I especially recommend coming in the late afternoon so you can see the city during the day and then enjoy the night view, experiencing different scenery in one visit!
