Located in one of Japan's premier plateau resorts, Karuizawa, this serene pond has become a staple on the tourist route. Once the surrounding area was a villa region for foreigners, it earned the nickname "Swan Lake" because swans would come to visit in the winter.

Originating from the pristine waters of Mizuzen, the pond is exceptionally clear. The sight of larch and maple trees reflected on the water surface is breathtakingly beautiful. With various wild birds inhabiting the area, including mallards by the water, visitors can enjoy tranquil moments listening to the birds chirping.

From spring to summer, visitors are met with the fresh greenery typical of highlands. Additionally, the charm lies in the diverse beautiful sceneries each season offers: autumn leaves in the fall and snowy landscapes in winter. The surrounding area has a roughly 1km walking path, allowing visitors to leisurely stroll and take in the views. Sitting on a bench around the pond to take a relaxing break is also recommended.
