A city park covering Approx. 150,000 square meters, spread across gentle hills surrounded by lush nature. Some 1,000 Yoshino cherry trees are planted here, and in spring the grounds are filled with pink blossoms, alongside a wide variety of attractions.

There is plenty to enjoy at every facility, including Kamine Zoo, where you can interact with guinea pigs and even try feeding elephants and giraffes, Kamine Amusement Park, whose retro atmosphere has become a hit on social media, and Kamine Leisure Land, home to 15 different attractions. Also recommended are Kamine Civic Pool, with both outdoor and indoor pools, and the Tadashi Yoshida Memorial Museum of Music, which honors the achievements of composer Tadashi Yoshida, who was born in Hitachi City.

From the observatory at the top of the hill, you can take in a full 360-degree view stretching from the cityscape to the Pacific Ocean and the Abukuma mountain range. The night view, especially, is sure to impress, and it has been selected as part of the Japan Night View Heritage.

The park is great for walking and taking photos. There are cherry blossoms in spring and gorgeous fall leaves in autumn, so it never feels boring no matter what season you visit.
The overall atmosphere is really relaxing and not overly commercialized. It just feels like pure nature and a great place to unwind. I highly recommend it for a half-day outing.
