Kyoto Gion Anon is a Japanese confectionery brand with a shop in Gion, Kyoto. Under the concept of “Stories Created with Anko,” it offers sweets centered on anko (sweet bean paste) that blend Japanese and Western traditions at TOKYO GIFT PALETTE.

The signature product is Anpone, a make-your-own monaka (traditional Japanese wafer confection). To enjoy it, you sandwich tsubu-an (chunky sweet red bean paste) made with azuki beans from Tokachi, Hokkaido, and homemade cream made with mascarpone and cream cheese between monaka wafers made from Habutae Mochi glutinous rice from Shiga Prefecture. Because the wafers are filled just before eating, they retain their crisp texture. Anpone is available in a variety of flavors. Assortments are also available. Kyo Hannari, a manju (traditional Japanese filled cake) made with white bean paste blended with Uji matcha from Kyoto and wrapped in matcha dough, is also popular.
