Takasago Shuzo Inc.

Established in 1899, Kohiyama Shuzo, a historical Sake brewery, called as Nada in Hokkai, was the 4th-established Sake brewery in Asahikawa. Merged with Ishizaki Shuzo in 1965, a new company restarted as the name of Takasago Shuzo.

The flagship product of Takasago Shuzo, “Kokushimuso”, the best product with their pride, received a Gold Prize for 3 years successively in the Anual Japan Sake Awards. The taste is characteristic of clean and dry, A series of the brand are currently launched from Daiginjo Shu to season-limited Sake. Another product, Asahikamui, launched as the best brand product from Takasago Shuzo, was made as a fine article concentrated with a tradition since the establishment and a pureness from brewery technique. By being kept with freezing temperature of freshly-squeezed raw Sake, making a more concentrated rich flavor and taste is possible.

In Sake brewery, Meiji Shuzo (a brewery at the time of founding) established in 1909 is attached, this building is currently used as an outlet store where the products manufactured in Takasago Shuzo are on sale and a tasting is available. A tour of the brewery is available, in which you can see an actual brewery with a historical atmosphere while the staff explains the process of manufacturing.
