Ebisu Yokocho
A two-minute walk from Ebisu Station, this "Drunkards' Alley" is full of retro Showa-era atmosphere.
A bar district with 20 restaurants. The former "Yamashita Shopping Center" was a public market, and the sign at the entrance is reminiscent of the Showa period.
The stores are small, ranging in size from 10-16m2, and are lined up in a tight row in the alley. This appearance of the market is also nostalgic for the older generation and fresh for the younger generation.
Just off the main street is "Sumibi-yaki Maruya," where you can drink "Sharikin," a frozen shochu called "Kinmiya". The skewers are served with miso sauce, soy sauce-based sauce, or salt. The restaurant is also popular for its frankness, allowing people of all ages and both men and women to stop by.
The most spacious restaurant in the area is "Kato Shoten Niku Zushi".
The "Uma nigiri," sushi using fresh horse meat, is very popular, offering four different cuts of meat: lean meat, loin, medium fatty, and sashitoro.
It is recommended to enjoy it with a glass of sparkling wine from Spain.
There are also "Uomaru (grilled seafoods)," "Ginmaru (Highball and grilled vegetables and meats wrapped in foil)" "Gyumaru (Beef dishes of Ozawa Farm)," and directly operated by Hamakura Produce Inc., which produced Ebisu Yokocho.
In addition, there are many other restaurants such as mushroom restaurants, bistros, and fish skewers that are sure to please any gourmet's palate.
The retro atmosphere of the Showa period and the hopping from one place to another in the alley will surely be an enjoyable experience.
