Dotonbori Kamukura Shinjuku

The Shinjuku branch of Dotonbori Kamukura, a ramen chain founded in Osaka, sits in the heart of Kabukicho, one of Tokyo’s leading entertainment districts. Open until 8:00am in the neighborhood known as the city that never sleeps, it’s a go-to spot for a finishing bowl of ramen after a night of drinks. Inside are around 60 seats, mainly counter seating, creating a casual atmosphere that works well for both solo diners and families with children.

The signature Oishii Ramen features a simple, never-boring flavor made with a soy sauce-based broth and plenty of napa cabbage. The broth in particular was perfected over a year and a half by the founder, who was formerly an owner-chef of a French restaurant, and is known for its gentle taste infused with the umami of its ingredients.

Along with the standard Oishii Ramen, there is also a wide range of toppings, including chashu pork, extra vegetables, seasoned soft-boiled egg, and green onion kimchi. Set menus with gyoza, fried chicken, soboro rice bowl, or fried rice are also available.
