Osakana Shokudo (Tokushima City Nakasu Market)

Osakana Shokudo is built around the concept that “fish tell you the season.” Working with Tokushima City Nakasu Market, this diner sources fresh seafood every day and serves it at reasonable prices. Orders are placed by purchasing a meal ticket from the ticket machine. The restaurant is self-service, so guests return their dishes to the designated area after eating.

The menu includes seven kinds of seafood bowls and 10 set meals. There is also a wide selection of à la carte dishes. Among them, the Kaisendon seafood bowl, Omakase Set Meal, and Kodawari Set Meal are especially popular. A classic way to finish the Kaisendon is by turning it into kaisen chazuke with the restaurant’s special seafood broth. Each bowl or set meal comes with miso soup made with sweet shrimp and Naruto wakame, along with two small side dishes.
