A long-established unagi restaurant in Matsuecho, Kawagoe, where the atmosphere of Little Edo still lingers, operating since 1832. Using a secret sauce passed down through generations, each domestic eel is carefully prepared over binchotan charcoal. Its kabayaki is made with a unique method: the eel is steamed fresh without first being grilled as shirayaki, then coated with sauce and grilled, creating an appealing balance of fluffy texture and savory aroma.

In addition to its signature unaju and shirayaki, the restaurant also offers a wide selection of à la carte dishes, including hitsumabushi, which lets you enjoy different ways of eating eel, and deep-fried loach that pairs well with drinks. The courses are also recommended, with options featuring eel in every form, including sashimi-style preparation, umaki, grilled eel liver, kimosui soup, and kabayaki. Kabayaki for takeout is also available.

The restaurant features a charming Japanese-style interior, with Approx. 350 seats ranging from tatami rooms to private rooms and large banquet halls, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions. Reservations on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are available for course meals only, and an additional 10% of the bill is charged as a seating fee for reserved bookings.
