Hakone Tozan Railway / Hakone Tozan Cable Car

The Hakone Tozan Railway is an indispensable part of sightseeing in Hakone, with many of the major spots in the city located along the route. The Hakone Tozan Railway consists of the Hakone Tozan Railway, which runs from Odawara Station to Gora Station, and the Hakone Tozan Cable Car , which runs from Gora Station to Sounzan Station , and can be reached by changing trains twice at Hakone-Yumoto Station and Gora Station.

The Hakone Tozan Railway is a full-fledged mountain railroad that runs along the steep slopes of the Hakone mountains. You can see the mountains of Hakone from the windows of the train, and from the middle of June to the end of July, hydrangeas bloom along the line. The Hakone Tozan Cable Car, which connects Gora Station to Sounzan Station, travels 1.2km for 6 stations in about 10 minutes. Although the distance of the line is only 1.2 km, the difference in elevation is about 200 meters, and the route is characterized by a steep slope that makes you feel as if you are climbing a mountain.
