Hakone-Yumoto Onsen Hot Spring Village

Hakone-Yumoto Onsen Hot Spring Village is known as one of the seven hot springs in Hakone and the largest hot spring resort in Hakone. It is said that Hakone's hot springs were first established in the Nara period (710-794), and during the Edo period (1603-1868), it flourished as a hot spring resort along the Tokaido highway, one of the five highways of the time. Even today, Hakone is a lively place with many hot spring facilities, lodging facilities, restaurants, and souvenir stores. It is the major hot spring resort of Hakone, where many tourists come every day to enjoy the hot springs.

The Hakone-Yumoto Station is the gateway to Hakone, where the Odakyu Limited Express Romancecar, Hakone Tozan Railway, Hakone Tozan Bus, and other transportation systems converge. It is an area with many historical spots and tourist attractions, including the Sounji Temple, which was built according to the will of Soun Hojo.

Hakone-Yumoto, the oldest hot spring resort in Hakone, is packed with more than 40 hotels that boast hot springs. Many hotels are located close to the station, making it convenient to take a day trip to the hot springs.
