Otokoyama Sake Brewing Museum, where visitors can learn about the 350-year history of sake production and sample sake.
Otokoyama, Hokkaido's famous sake, with a history of about 350 years. The Otokoyama Sake Brewing Museum is operated by Otokoyama Corporation to convey the history and traditions of sake brewing where Otokoyama is produced and sold. The museum exhibits tools used in the 17th century when Otokoyama was first made, and introduces the sake brewing process through a VTR. Don't miss the valuable art and cultural materials depicting "Otokoyama" in paintings and old documents of the period.
You can also sample Otokoyama, which has been awarded the Monde Selection Gold Prize for more than 40 years in succession. You can also taste some of Japan's best sake, which has won numerous awards at sake competitions in Japan and abroad. Many rare and valuable products, such as "Seasonal Limited Edition" and "Museum Limited Edition," are available for purchase, as well as a wide variety of goods such as sake containers, front hangings, T-shirts, and so on.
In addition, visitors can taste free of charge the "water of longevity" used in the production of Otokoyama. You can even take home up to 18 liters of the Daisetsuzan subterranean water that produces the famous sake.
