Kimuraya Honten
Kimuraya Honten is one of the oldest shops in Asakusa, boasting the longest history among the numerous doll-shaped cake shops in the area, having been founded in the 4th year of the Keio era (1868). Located at the very end of Nakamise Street, just before the treasure house gate of Sensoji Temple, the shop is always bustling with many tourists.
The outer layer is golden and soft, paired with a sweet, smooth red bean filling. Every bite has a subtle egg aroma. The ningyo-yaki are shaped like famous Asakusa landmarks, making them cute and full of traditional Japanese character. When visiting Sensoji Temple and strolling along Nakamise Street, consider buying a few to enjoy on the spot.
