Le Midi

Le Midi is a restaurant specializing in grilled steak and hamburger at the entrance of the Honmachi 2 chome shopping street in Takayama City, which is known for its traditional townscape in the city center and Takayama Jinya, and contains the governor’s historical provincial office.

Hida Beef here is fashioned in the best condition by a careful curing and storage process, aging in a special dry fridge for about two weeks. Their beef is served grilled but also in many other ways bringing out the best flavor of the particular cut of the meat.

A popular menu since the restaurant's establishment in 2001 has been their creative and impressive dish, "Hida beef hamburger steak.” This French-style hamburger steak served with fresh tomato and gazpacho sauces arrives in the 20 cm thick layers with roasted potatoes at the bottom and green beans above, then the Hida beef hamburger steak on top, with a topping of seasonal vegetable.

In addition to a wide variety of Hida Beef menus, more dishes and appetizers are available including freshly picked local vegetables, fish dishes, Hida pork dishes, and other a la carte menus. The chef, who has trained at starred restaurants throughout France, transforms fresh local ingredients into special seasonal menus.
